 Atacama Expedition Motorcycle Tent

Redverz Gear has achieved camping nirvana with The Atacama Expedition Tent. With 23 inches of additional sleeping room, 3-person capacity, room for cots and the ability to sleep either cross-wise or lengthwise, The Atacama Expedition Tent is the most versatile and comfortable motorcycle tent known to man.  The small vestibule of its’ predecessor, The Series II Expedition Tent, has been annexed into the sleeping bay, adding precious slumber space and enabling each camper to use a separate door when entering and exiting the tent.

The Atacama offers 2 different, purpose-fitted ground sheets for either the sleeping area or the garage. Sleeping area ground covers continue to protect your investment and extend the life of the floor, while a precision-fit garage ground cloth keeps condensation down and high traffic areas tidy.  Move amongst different areas of the tent without having to continually strap boots on and off.

A new mesh panel in the large vestibule door increases airflow and offers protection from bugs.  Choose total privacy or vent with just our breathable, bug resistant mesh.  Longer, 9-inch pegs are stronger and more versatile to address varied terrain and new storage pouches allow hi visibility guy lines to be completely and neatly tucked away.  With an exceptional pack size of just 21” x 9” - tent, poles and pegs all in - Redverz Gear continues to deliver the most spacious, functional and high quality motorcycle tent on the market.

Footprints for both the garage and sleeping area of the Atacama Expedition Tent.

Footprints extend the life of your tent floor and protect against damaging abrasion.  We recommend using a custom-cut ground cloth designed specifically for the floor plan of your tent, like the Atacama Expedition Tent Footprints for either the sleeping bay or the garage.  The custom fit of the sleeping area groundsheet effectively avoids water collecting between the tent floor and the foot print during rainy conditions.  In the garage, the purpose-fitted garage ground sheet keeps high traffic areas tidy.  In the morning use your foot print as a clean surface where you can fold and roll your tent.

  1. Fabulous tent

Posted by Bill on 1st Mar 2015

Easy to haul on a bike and a nice bag to keep everything organized. Our first weekend camping in this tent was met with all night thunderstorms both nights. We drove in the last stake as the rain drops started. Luckily we had some stools and got settled in the garage area to watch the storm. The bikes didn't get to come in out of the weather this trip. We had rivers of water coming through the garage area and the mud flows along with it. We kept glancing over at the sleeping area expecting water and it didn't happen. We went to sleep listening to the pouring rain all night long and stayed perfectly dry and got a great nights sleep. Repeat exactly the same thing the next night. Quick up, quick down. This tent is awesome. Just buy it!

  2. First Impressions

Posted by Barry on 25th Feb 2015

Received the tent very quickly. Had several questions and emails were replied to quickly. Had responses the following day both times. Have only put it up once so far. Will take quite a few setups to do this quickly. The videos certainly make it look a lot easier than it was the first time. I know that a little experience will make a lot of difference. Tent seems well built. I have a Goldwing with a luggage rack on the trunk. The back edge of the rack hits the tent way too hard and would wear through the tent quickly. Front tire still stuck out the other side about six inches. Without a rack you "could" fit a Goldwing inside but would still be very tight. I was able to get the zippers down but was difficult. I would say it is not big enough for this size of motorcycle. Plan a trip from Oklahoma to Nova Scotia in September so will know a lot more after that. One night in Texas in April so that will help better understand how to set it up.

  3. Quality build for a big tent

Posted by Unknown on 17th Feb 2015

My background in tents comes from high altitude mountaineering. I would not hesitate to pay twice as much for a tent that was 75 % smaller...
I set the tent up twice in the park, opening every door looking at the details and found not a flaw in its construction!!
It sets easily and has ample tie downs for the wind.
I bought both of the ground cloths for it and will use it without the included tent. Just the the waterproof fly and the ground footprints will be more than ample for most 3 season usage. The sew house that makes this tent is first class

  4. Great tent

Posted by Geoff on 5th Feb 2015

Just received the Atacama Expedition tent and have only set it up in the back yard but it seems a great tent. The design is really good and it will be a luxury having so much tent space on a motorcycle trip. The build quality is really good with obvious thought going into some of the features. Very much looking forward to taking this tent on my next trip (~8 to 10,000kms).
